One of the easiest steps to solve algebra or linear equation is by way of ‘moving’ or ‘changing’ the location of each number. This step needs to be mastered as the very same step is required in solving most problems when comes to Additional Maths.

Let us take a,b,c dan d as an easy example; say **a/b = c/d**

movement or changes of number in equation **a/b = c/d **can be done as follows:

1. a.d = c.b

2. a.d/b = c

3. a = c.b/d

4. d/b = c/a

5. a/c = b/d

6. b = a.d/c

7. d = b.c/a

8. 1/b.c = 1/a.d

9. a.d/b.c = 1

10. a.d/b.c – 1 = 0

Now let us do experiment on actual numbers

**3/5 = 6/10**

By applying the changes and movement of number as stated above, then we will have the following equations

1. a.d = c.b >>> 3.10 = 6.5 = 30

2. a.d/b = c >>> 3.10/5 = 6

3. a = c.b/d >>> 3 = 6.5/10

4. d/b = c/a >>> 10/5 = 6/3 = 2

5. a/c = b/d >>> 3/6 = 5/10 = 1/2

6. b = a.d/c >>> 5 = 3.10/6

7. d = b.c/a >>> 10 = 5.6/3

8. 1/b.c = 1/a.d >>> 1/5.6 = 1/3.10 = 1/30

9. a.d/b.c = 1 >>> 3.10/5.6 = 1

10. a.d/b.c – 1 = 0 >>> 3.10/5.6 – 1 = 0
